Custom Pool Decks and Coping in Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas
Your pool area has two key features: the deck, which is the surface you walk on, and the coping, which is the edge that frames the pool. At Texas Premier Coat Resurfacing, we specialize in upgrading both with custom overlays that improve safety, stay cooler in the Texas heat, and look like natural stone. Whether you need a refreshed pool deck or new coping, our hand-crafted finishes turn ordinary concrete into a space worth showing off.

Why Resurface Your Pool Deck?
Resurfacing your pool deck does more than fix cracks or stains, it transforms the entire look and feel of your outdoor space. The right finish can make your deck a striking feature that highlights the pool, or a softer design that blends into the landscaping. Beyond style, a resurfaced deck adds comfort, improves safety with slip-resistant textures, stays cooler under the Texas sun, and is easier to clean than bare concrete. It’s an upgrade that makes your pool area both beautiful and practical.
How Coping Shapes the Look of Your Pool
Coping does more than frame your pool, it actually defines its style. The color and finish you choose can make the border a bold highlight that draws attention to the water, or a subtle detail that blends seamlessly with your deck and landscaping. With the right coping, your pool becomes either the centerpiece of your yard or a natural part of the overall design.
Safer, Cooler Surfaces Built for Texas Heat
Our hand-troweled overlays use a blend of marble and quartz aggregate that does more than just look good. The varied texture gives your feet better grip, helping reduce slips around the pool, while also allowing heat to dissipate more quickly. Unlike tight surface finishes such as tile, stone, or stamped concrete that tend to trap heat, our overlays stay noticeably cooler under the Texas sun, making them safer and more comfortable for barefoot traffic.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it expensive to resurface concrete? and How much do you charge?
Great question! The cost of resurfacing depends on a few factors, like the size of your project and the level of prep work required. On average, most residential concrete resurfacing projects start between $6.75 to $8 per square foot.
Keep in mind that special prep work—like tile or carpet removal, extensive grinding, or working on steps, vertical surfaces, or pool coping—may add to the cost.
The good news? Resurfacing is far more affordable than tearing out and replacing concrete! Plus, you get a completely customized, high-end look without the hassle of a major renovation.
How many patterns can I choose from?
Your pattern and color options are virtually limitless—especially if your existing concrete is in great shape! But what if your slab has cracks? No problem! We can incorporate natural cracking into the design, creating a seamless, organic look that enhances the character of your surface.
That’s the beauty of a hand-tooled overlay rather than a stamped one. Hand-carved patterns offer more flexibility, allowing for future movement in the concrete without disrupting the design. Unlike rigid stamp patterns that can highlight cracks over time, our approach ensures a custom, durable, and natural finish that stands the test of time.
Since we hand-craft and hand-stain every surface, your finished product is completely unique.
Is the concrete overlay coating slippery?
Not at all! Our standard Quartz Coat texture, applied at about ¼” thick, is designed to be skid-resistant and highly durable. We hand-texture each surface to provide excellent traction, making it a great option for driveways, patios, and pool decks.
If you prefer a smoother finish, we can customize the texture to your liking. However, keep in mind that smooth surfaces can become slippery when wet—so we require a signed waiver to ensure customers are aware of this choice. Additionally, the type of sealer you choose can impact the final smoothness of your surface.
